Office hours follow the central government pattern, Monday to Friday roughly 9:30 am to 5:30 pm with a lunch break; public dealing counters are busiest at month start.
What you can do online instead
Most PF work no longer needs an office visit. On the member portal (unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in) with your UAN you can check your passbook, file Form 19/10C withdrawals, make Form 31 advance claims, transfer old accounts and update KYC. Claims filed online with Aadhaar-seeded UANs generally settle without any office interaction. The UMANG app covers the same services on mobile.
When an office visit helps
Go in person for stuck claims returned repeatedly, name or date-of-birth mismatches that the online joint declaration cannot fix, death-case claims by nominees, and employer-side disputes such as unremitted contributions. Carry your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, a cancelled cheque of the bank account seeded to the UAN, and printouts of the rejected claim if any. For grievances, file at epfigms.gov.in (EPF i-Grievance) and quote the registration number at the counter; it noticeably speeds up follow-ups.
